HUG AN AUSSIE DAY !!!!!!!

Aussies in America be warned! You are in danger of becoming the target of "random acts of kindness".

April 26 is "Hug An Australian Day" in the U.S. When I first heard this, I too thought someone was pulling my leg. (There's another concept for a crazy day.) A bit of a web surf turns up the possibility that this obscure tradition is one of sixty "wacky", "copyrighted holidays" created by Wellcat Holidays. "Hug An Australian Day" is earmarked for Americans to show how much they appreciate the care and support they have enjoyed from their Australian friends over the years. I guess there are a few American servicemen who could testify to that one!

That they chose April 26 suggests an inspired combination of Australia Day and ANZAC Day - two of the big national holidays in Australia. Australia Day is celebrated on January 26, and ANZAC Day is celebrated on April 25 (when it is still April 24 in the U.S.). The ANZACS were the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers who landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey early on the morning of 25 April 1915 during the First World War (1914-1918). The day has evolved to become one of remembrance of the men and women who have fought and died in all wars.

Shortly after the veterans march in Oz, Aussies in the U.S. will find themselves being accosted by those warm 'n wacky Americans.

ANZAC DAY

Well what a fantastic day even for those of us so anti war its still a great day to give thanks for all that was given to us by all the men and women of the past and i must say i enjoy the day and love to say thanks to all the guys and i end up giving lots of old men hugz and saying thankyou (lol sounds like my teen years lol ) no not like that its great.

I had a great day playing 2 up actually lost like heaps but what the hell it was fun .. would have been more fun to have won some $$$$ but hey i dont need it too much of late anyway ...

Anyway not much going on with this blog of late is there .. i need some life .. OH i got some more tats on friday i finaly got the forearm ones that i wanted done .. its very out there and to be honest i have been wearing long sleaves a bit more the last few days lol ... I do love them but i am sure to get some coments from some peeps ... so i will save the photos till another time ... when they settle down cause right now they look a bit shitty as the scabs are healing ....

have not much planed for the week perhaps some more bloging would be good .. any ideas ???? ask me a question and i will blog the answer for all the read that might be fun !!!!!! lets do it !!!!

A Day of Peaceful Meditation

Spent an Hour or so today just meditating by a waterfall and at the creek (above) I am finding it so worthwile to do my yoga and meditation of late its so settling and calming for me and i feel so much more at ease with the world and my moods of the past week .. Its something i will be keeping up with thats for sure.

So not many blogs of late I just dont have much to say and i forget to post as well seriously i have spent most of this easter long weekend just cleaning up around the home and im so lazy that it takes me forever .. I like it clean and i am hoping to keep it this way i only have a couple of rooms to go but one is my bed room that looks like a bomb hit it ... same as always has ... oh well... i am trying to teach this old dog new tricks

anyway its time for me to have a bath and watch a dvd ... I gave up smokes and coke a few days ago and now i sleep all the time ... guess it was effecting me ... now i sleep for like 13 hours a day the last few nights and then take an arvo nap too ... i hope it is just short term and not something wrong with me ... can you catch cronic fatauge syndrome???

Fixed the Tat

Well this is some great new ink i got done those of you that seen odie the Dog on my leg with the Tribal swirl under it will note that this is a cover job to hide odie for good cause i hated that tat ... so the cover is the new work its totaly original free hand from a great artist and will be the same color black as the rest in a week or so... What do you all think ????

folk festival

Hey people just a quick blog from a net cafe to say you guys should all be here ... I am at the folk festival having the time of my life last night ... so much fun so many artists and alike .... I even played pool last night and kicked everyone arse untill closing time at the pub which was somewhere near 2 am .... so good i am the pool champ !!!!1 ya ya ....

Ok like i said just a quick blog cause not much to say untill i get home but next year you should all be here .......
